Spearheaded by Secret Witness with the assistance of several key partnerships, a campaign is underway in Northern Nevada to help educate youth, their parents and the community about the dangers of methamphetamine.

The campaign launch began with the airing of the documentary, Crystal Darkness, on January 9th from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on almost all television stations throughout Northern Nevada.

Here is a list of events scheduled as part of the campaign:

  • Crystal Darkness aired on nearly all local television stations throughout Northern Nevada on January 9th from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m.
  • At the end of January, a 26-minute program titled "Break Free, Live Free" was shown in all of the schools in Washoe County. It also was made available to any other school districts that wished to use it.
  • KNPB aired a special broadcast on January 21st that included a live panel discussion concerning the problems with Meth.
  • Many of the local television stations aired their own series on the issue of Meth.
  • In the beginning of February, Secret Witness and its partners launched another media campaign that consisted of 30-second television spots as well as 60-second radio ads, print ads and billboards. The campaign targeted youth with the message, “Not Even Once.”
